Why do we need a Friends group?
We are all aware of 'state cutbacks'. Over the past three years the Harbison staff
has been reduced from 7 full-time employees to 2 !! There is little to no
money for needed projects. To better get the picture, read these articles from

Volunteers help fill budget gaps
Become a Member
Friends of Harbison State Forest needs your support! Your contributions
of money and time are an investment in the viability of Harbison State Forest
as a wildlife refuge, educational resource and recreational haven. Volunteers are always welcome
but our members are what make the Friends of Harbison State Forest's work
possible. Please join us in protecting and enhancing this unique
resource. Your contribution and membership help:
- purchase equipment and supplies needed to do trail maintenance
- enlist and organize volunteers
- further public outreach
- encourage educational programs
- keep the forest in top condition so we can all enjoy
walking, jogging, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and biking within
its bounds.
Benefits of Membership
Get in on the ground floor as the Friends of Harbison Forest starts up!
You can help set priorities and be a factor in making the group
effective.
There is much that can be done in addition to trail maintenance. You could
start a newsletter, write for a grant, help plan social events,
help with publicity, presentations, etc.
Most of all you will have the satisfaction
of knowing you are helping preserve and enhance one of South
Carolina's treasures.
How to Join or Renew
Print this
membership form
and mail it to us with your donation. From all who use and enjoy the forest,
THANK YOU!!
